William Harold Cleveland was born in 1895 at Stoney Forze Shalfleet, Isle of Wight. At the time of the 1911 census, he was living at 5 The Avenue, Railway Terrace, Brockenhurst, Hants. Cleveland was an apprentice to a Blacksmith.
He enlisted at Poole, Dorset and joined the 3rd Bn of The Dorset Regiment. To France & Flanders on October 23rd 1914, he sadly died on January 26th 1917 with the 5th Bn . He was laid to rest in Bois- Guillaume Communal Cemetery.
