Condition GVF.

 

John William (1880) and Henry Septimus Forster (1892) were brothers from Blaydon Colliery in County Durham. At the time of the 1911 census John was working as a Miner, and Henry was an Apprentice Engineer.

 

John was a pre-war territorial serving with the 4th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers. He landed in France on 20th April 1915; he was transferred to the Labour Corps and survived the war, being discharged on 11th January 1919. Joh passed away in 1934.

 

Henry landed in France with the Durham Light Infantry on 20th April 1915, transferred to the Labour Corps, he survived and was discharged in 1919. His Victory Medal is missing from the group.
