An excellent KIA pair to 186141 Cpl. Homer Glen Hibray 27th Canadian Infantry
Hibray is listed on cwgc as being 68 years old! This is incorrect he was actually 27 years old. It appears that Hibray was an American citizen as his father is listed as Andrew. J. Hibray of 1214, South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana USA
Although Hibray is listed as “commonwealth war dead” I feel fairly certain he was actually killed in action 21/08/1917. Although I’m sure someone with access to Canadian records will be able to astatine the correct information
It was on 21/8/1917 that the 27 battalion was involved in major action in the Laurent sector.
