A Plaque in cardboard case with condolence slip to John Owens, along with a number of original period photographs in a leather wallet. Also 3 loose photographs, 2 religious cards and a small hymn book. All came with the plaque.
The photo graphs in the leather wallet are as follows, a studio portrait of a Canadian infantry man, produced in BlackettbStreet Newcastle upon Tyne. A studio picture of a British Lance Corporal and finally a group shot of British soldiers relaxing.
The loose photographs are as follows: three young children, 2 young women and 3 soldiers relaxing in camp.
The group came from a house clearance firm and they had no further information.
There were 3 Canadian John Owens killed the war, according to soldiers died 27 British John Owens were killed, while CWGC shows that 69 J Owens were killed.
A nice set, the plaque being very nicely toned.
