Smith was a native of Dublin and served for over 18 years. He was entiled to a QSA with Cape Colony bar and the Long Service Good Conduct Medal. He left the army in 1913 at 46 years old due to no longer being fit for military service. He went to live in a veteran’s retirement home in London. “ SERJT” has been corrected on the medal. Condition is other wise EF to GEF.
