Arthur was born and enlisted in Manchester, his next of kin is listed as Arthur and Minnie Welton of 43 Plymouth Grove, Chorlton – on – Medlock Manchester.
Arthur was sadly killed in action on the 20th of July 1918; he was laid to rest in Marfaux British Cemetery. Medal index card confirms entitlement to a pair. The pair comes with the original slip for the British War medal and Victory medal, along with the envelope in which the medals were sent to Arthurs family.
