George Yates was born in Lancaster and enlisted in Lancaster; he was entitled to a 1914/15 trio having landed in France on the 14th of February 1915.
George was sadly killed in action on the 15th of August 1915 while serving with 1/5th Royal Lancaster Regiment. He was commemorated on the Thiepval memorial.
The star is 100% original but has been silver gilded.
