Shot in face – later AWOL

George Dawson service papers are online and will be included with the medal on disc. He was badly wounded on 21st of June 1916 when he was shot in the face and thigh, the bullet to his face exiting below his right ear. In 1918 he went Awol, which is detailed in the papers in some detail.
