George was born in Lancashire in 1883. He attested on the 5th of March 1901 joining the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, having previously served in the 4th Cheshire Regt.
Papers confirm he sustained a gun shot wound to the face on the 1st 1916 July ( first day of the Somme) while serving with the 1st battalion. He was subsequently transfered to the 16th battalion (pals) and was again wounded on the 3rd September 1916.
Landed in France on the 19th September 1914 and thus entitled to a 1914 Trio. Discharded 31st March 1920.
