Jospeh Philip Tuck was born in Loftus Yorkshire in 1871. By the 1911 census he was living and working in Hartlepool as a Lea Pilot. He served in the Merchant Navy during the great war and was awarded a Mercantile Marine Medal, sadly his pair is missing.
His son Arthur Elgen Tuck was born in 1910 in Hartlepool, he went on to serve in the Navy during WW2 and was awarded the 1939 to 45 star, Atlantic Star and War Medal. The group comes in the box of issue, addresed to him.
