WW2 Group with numerous documents and pictures relating to service in the RAF from 1919.

Albert Edward Manklow was born on the 9^th of November 1901; he lived in Kent and worked as a Motor Driver. There are numerous insurance documents and licenses given to Manklow throughout his life included with the group.

He enlisted in the RAF on the 20^th of January 1919 as a Boy, he was 17 years old and 72 days at the time. He served in the RAF until the 31^st of December 1929, which included 4 years in India. It was during this period that Manklow took numerous photographs, which are shown at the bottom of this listening. Many have annotations on the back.

After he left the RAF as an Airman Class One, Manklow went back to work as a public vehicle driver.

Perhaps seeing the war cold looming Manklow joined the Army reserve on the 30^th of January 1939. Interestingly he didn’t mention his previous service in the RAF, his soldiers release book shows he served with the RASC, before being discharged on the 20^th of September 1945. He saw service in the far east with the RASC
