Sam Blaymire was born in Eastmoor, Wakefield.
He attested on the 14th of April 1914 aged 17 years and 86 days, he gave his profession as a Pony Driver in a Coal Mine.
On the 6th of November 1914 Blaymire was awarded 6 days field punishment number 2. He landed in France on the 9th of January 1915 and was sadly killed in action on the 30th of March 1915. He is remembered on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial
