British War Medal to 45389 Cpl R S Pearson DLI

Ralph Pearson was born in Nottingham, he attested as a 17 year old on the 22^nd of May 1916. He gave his profession as apprentice motor engineer. He was appointed paid L/Cpl on the 27^th of April 1917 while serving with the 19^th DLI. It was with this battalion that Ralph received a gunshot wound to his thigh, in France 1918. He was invalided home, sadly he died in the Military Hospital Nottingham on the 10^th of April 1919 due to his wounds. Ralph was laid to rest in Nottingham General Cemetery
