William John Clark was from choppington in Northumberland, a member of the 21st Light Anti Aircraft regiment 79 battery. He joined on the 12th of December 1940, taken prisoner on the 23rd of February 1942, it looks like Clark was held on Java and in Batavia from the various paper work amongst the group. The group includes various documents, official pay book, repatriation documents, hand written poetry by Clark, hand written letter from Clark, Japanese paper work. Also documents from the U.S.S Consolation AH-15 which was a hospital ship used to transport Allied POW’s.

Medals = VF +

Pacific star is most certainly missing and probably a defence medal. Paper work and medals all contained in an old US cigar box.
