Alexander T Weddle was an original member of the 3rd Tyneside Scottish, serving as an acting Warrant Officer class 1. He is listed in John Sheens book as a CSM. His home address is listed as 23 Ellison Street in Jarrow. He was discharged in August 1916. It seems very likely that this was due to wounds received on the first day of the Somme. The 22nd suffering heavy casualties.
