John Alexander Forster of County Durham and in civilian life worked as a motor man. Joining the RNVR he served in the Tyne Zone before being transferred to Drake Battalion of the Royal Naval Division.
He survived the war and joined the Mason’s. He was presented in 1931 with a solid silver (hallmarked) masonic medal by Sir John Elliot, which is cased and included with the group.
