Arthur Hulme was born and enlisted in Manchester. His papers note his address as 26 Carter Terrace, Greenheys Manchester. Papers confirm he was in the 16th battalion ( Manchester Pals)
Hulme was wounded in action on the 1st July 1916, first day of the Somme with the 16th. Probably from a German Machine Gun near Breslau Alley. The 16th sadly had many casualties that day. He transferred to the 2/9th and was again wounded 7th October 1917. He was gassed on 21.10.1918.
