Taylor landed in France 15th December 1914, and was discharged in 1919.
The 1914/15 star has been unofficially renamed in a non official style! to SGT J A Taylor 13th Hussars.
Under an magnifying class you can see the official recipients details that have been filed off. Its 11529 Pte J Burns Royal Engineers! The Victory Medal has again had its original details filed off and someone has added Pte E J Kelson 6279482 The Queens RWS. No such person existed with that number or initials in the Queens RWS!
The British war medal named to 3127 SJT J A Taylor is correct and original, but his initials J A have been removed and officially re impressed. Its states on his medal index card reissued in 1922, someone has mistakenly put his initials on as I W!
The police Long Service good conduct medal is correct and original. The only one that is not messed about with!
Taylor must have lost his Star and Victory medal and went along to the local pawn shop for replacements!
The group came with the letters, all are from a man who served in the Navy in the late 1960's. I am not sure if he is related to Taylor? Also a police whistle, Taylor's birth and marriage certificate and divorce documents.
Mounted as worn, just a big shame what has happened to the medals. Still the price is not terrible when you consider the BWM is still £25 and the Police medal is £40 to £50 ish!
Condition = has to be VF across the board.
