Alfred Jeremiah Perkins was born in Solihull in 1887. He served with the 1/4th Dorset regiment in India before transferring to the rifle brigade and serving in Mesopotamia and then again in India. He spent long periods in hospital and was dangerously ill due to malaria and dysentery. The group comes with a stack of documents, discharged papers and pensions records. Also his pay book and various, pictures of his time in the army. Some sketches and paintings that he did are also present.
Service papers are online. This group will make a nice research project and needs to be properly preserved and documented.
