Joseph Davison was born in Hetton Le Hole. He worked as a Coal Miner and lived at 96 Cross Row Middle Rainton.

He had previously served 4 days with the 17^th DLI, this was noted when he attested on 27^th July 1915.

Medals were sent to his Mother at 16 Front Street, Middle Rainton, County Durham.

Served with the 10^th battalion in France from 2^nd March 1916. Wounded 16^th October 1917, Posted to 15^th battalion 3^rd February 1918.

He was sadly killed in action on 31^st March 1918. He was first listed as missing. Remembered on Pozieres Memorial.
