Casualty British War Medal to 18/1557 Pte W A Gladwell Durh L I / Bard Cottage Cemetery

William Allison Gladwell was born in Durham. He enlisted in Bishop Auckland joining the 18th DLI.

Subsequently transferred to the 14th battalion, he was sadly killed in action on 8th May 1916. He was laid to rest in Bard Cottage Cemetery.

Unfortunately missing its suspender.
