1914/15 Trio to Engineer Commander Archibald Woodthorpe Cross / late 271729 ERA3 RN

Archibald Woodthorpe Cross was born in Portsea, Hampshire in 1890. He joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 1^st class aged 17.

He served on HMS Iron Duke, before being commissioned on 6^th May 1917. Cross remained in the Navy in the post-war years, by 1937 he was an Engineering Commander.

Cross died in a Royal Navy Hospital on 6^th January 1939 of Hypertensive Heart Disease.

The group is swing mounted as worn.
