William Henry Brough was born in Middlesbrough in 1887. At the time of the 1911 census, he was married with a young son and working as an Iron Founder in the Rolling Mills. 
 
It is likely that he served during The Great War. Brough died on 14th February 1941 while serving with 8 (H.D.) Bn. Green Howards. He was laid to rest in Acklam Cemetery. 
 
With the box of issue,  addressed to his wife ' Mrs Annie E Brough, 171 West View, Hartlepool. 
With condolence slip ( Little rip to the top, it has at one time been in a frame).
