1882 Egypt Medal clasps Tel - EL - Kebir & Suakin 1884.
Correctly engraved - 65. Pte T. Bommer. 17th. Co C & TC.
Condition EF ( lovely condition for an Egypt Medal) 
 
Thomas Bommer was born in Prescot, he attested at Aston in 1875, aged 20.  He gave his civilian occupation as Smith. He became a member of the East Surrey Regiment (service number 1160), later transferring to the Commissariat Transport Corps in 1878. 
 
His medical history makes for interesting reading; he caught Gonhorha on numerous occasions. Bommer served in Afghanistan with the East Surrey's and is entitled to the Afghanistan Medal. The Egypt Medal is confirmed in his papers and on the roll. 
 
Thomas passed away in 1907.
