Kenneth Francis Draper was born on the 13th April 1915 at 2, Hyde Cottage, Walditch, Bridport, Dorset. He joined the Royal Artillery in 1932; he had been a Chauffer in civilian life. 
 
He was posted to Singapore, serving with the 85th Anti-Tank Regiment. The Japanese took Draper prisoner at Singapore on 15th February 1942. He was transported to Tokyo OHI camp on 20th March 1943 and held there until 15th September 1945, when the camp was liberated. 
 
Kenneth passed away in 2002 in Dorset.
