With box for LSGC. With research file. 
 
Holt was serving as Regimental Sergeant Major of the 1st/8th Lancashire Fusillser. The Bn was with the BEF in France in 1940, in late May the Bn was retreating and trying to get to Dunkirk.
 
It is believed that Holt was taken prisoner on 27th May 1940 when his unit was surrounded and the commanding officer felt that a daylight breakout was too dangerous. 
 
Holt was imprisoned in Stalag 7415 in Hohenfels. The camp was liberated on 24th April 1945 by the Americans.
