Memorial Plaque to 42540 Clement Binns KOYLI / killed on HMT Transylvania

Clement Binns Was born in Bradford in 1897. At the time of the 1911 census, he was living with his family at 34 Pickles Lane Gt Horton, Bradford. He was employed as a 'Frame Mender.' 

 

Clement joined the Kings Own Yorkshire Life Infantry but never served in a theatre of War. While en route to Alexander, the transport ship he was on, HMT Transylvania, was sunk by U-63. 

 

Clement was lost at sea and is remembered on the Savona Memorial in Italy. He was entitled to a British War Medal.
