George Albert Passey was a native of Barnton, Northwich. Born in 18978 he was a lamp cleaner in civilian life.
He gave his age as 20 on enlistment; however, he was actually still only 17 when he landed in France on the 15th of february 1915 with the 5th Bn. He was a stretcher bearer with 'D' Company.
He was hospitalised on four occasions; it isn't clear if this was for wounds or illness. He was awarded a 56th divisional card on the 29th of March 1918 and won the Military Medal on the 3rd of November 1918 at the very end of the war.
The medal was announced in the London Gazette on the 13th of June 1919.
