Condition VF, loss of enamel to obverse and reverse of Legion of Honour, the missing parts have been touched up with paint.

Jospeh Jobberns was born in Kings Bromley, Stafford on the 28^th of November 1830.

He enlisted on the 16^th of October 1849, joining the 1^st Bn of the 39^th Regiment. Jobberns rose steadily through the ranks, a Sergeant when he arrived in Crimea, he saw service there from February 1855  until the 30^th of April 1856. He was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal;

‘For conspicuous gallantry on all occasions in the trenches before Sebastopol’

Jobberns award of the Legion of Honour 5^th Class was gazetted on the 4^th August 1856. He had been promoted to Sergeant Major the day before.

 Promoted to Lieutenant Quartermaster on the 24^th August 1860 and finally Captain Quartermaster on the 7^th January 1866.

 Joseph passed away in Aberdeen in 1885.
