Charles Wallace was born in Preston in 1869. In civilian life, he worked in a Mill as a Spinner. Charles attested on 23rd January 1890 and was discharged from the army on 16th February 1898.
 
Recalled on 13th November 1899, he served in South Africa from 26th January 1900 until 20th August 1902. he was awarded the Queens South Africa Medal and is also entitled to the Kings South Africa Medal.
 
Wallace passed away on  22nd March 1949 from heart disease.
